The Giro d`Italia in Piedmont!

Wednesday, May 22, the Giro d`italia arrives in Piedmont, with the stage Carpi - Novi Ligure: flat stage crossing the Po Valley to the first slopes of the Ligurian Apennines. We cross Reggio Emilia, Parma, Piacenza, Voghera and Tortona before the final sprint in the city of Campionissimi.

Thursday, May 23, continues with the stage Cuneo - Pinerolo: short but intense stage with the double passage at the top of the Wall of Via dei Principi of Acaja (slopes up to 20%) and the climb of Montoso. It goes through the roads of the pre-Alps of Cuneo around Saluzzo. The route then arrives at Pinerolo and climbs the Wall for the first time and then tackles Montoso and returns to Pinerolo for the second passage on the Wall, 3 km from the finish line.

Friday, May 24 we expect the route Pinerolo - Ceresole Reale (Lago Serrù): high mountain stage with 3 hard sections. First the Colle del Lys from Val Susa and then the ascent of Pian del Lupo (Santa Elisabetta) above Cuorgné / Castellamonte and the final ascent of the Colle del Nivolet to Lago del Serrù. We take the "old road" that has important slopes up to 14/15%.

Saturday 25 May Saint Vincent - Courmayeur (Skyway Monte Bianco), a very short stage (131 km) with a high level difference (4000 m) in relation to the shortness of the stage. We climb Verrayes, Verrogne, Truc d`Arbe (Combes) and Colle San Carlo before the uphill arrival of Courmayeur. It consists of long climbs and high inclines linked without breath, perhaps removed the crossing of Aosta.

Sunday, May 26 finally Ivrea - Como: a stage that crosses the northern part of the Po Valley before joining Asso to the recent "historical" route of the Giro di Lombardia. At the end of 237 km (the longest stage of the Giro) cyclists will have climbed Ghisallo, Colma di Sormano (without Muro), Civiglio and San Fermo.
